Description: This drawing is composed from abstract shapes mostly made by moving the long side of a piece of charcoal or graphite over the surface of the paper in swirly, circular, or angular movements. The writing, using pink ink, is mainly confined to areas of blank paper in between the charcoal shapes. It is sent from '33 Roehampton' [Banting's address in the 1930s] and in it Banting suggests that Humphrey Spender makes some pictures of Marianne Oswald.
