This sketchbook includes notes for a letter to H R Fischer written in April 1959 about the terms of his proposed contract with Marlborough Fine Art; there are also studies for paintings of that year such as 'The Pine' and 'Thorn Cross Oval'. The later drawings include several studies for pictures of 1961 and for 'The Canal', which is dated 1961-1964.
