Description

[Translation/transcription]

Villeneuve

7 June 1966

Dear Master Pepi,

Here's that drawing on lithography paper, drawn in lithograph chalk. It should be printed in London, sharp, clear and in deep black. You won't sell five hundred copies; one doesn't see that quantity on the market. A hundred and fifty to two hundred would be more usual. So you should tell your publisher not to waste his money; a run like that would soon end up being hawked on a street corner.

It would be lovely to see you both in Zurich. I came back completely exhausted from all the funerals yesterday, shortly before my own premature death, and did your drawing early this morning. The beautyfull one is breaking my heart. Embrace her for me, but don't kiss her. That's my privilege!

All best and love to you and yours, also [illegible],

OK
